It is a large contemporary family house that was designed keeping in mind the needs and choices of the home owner. The brief wanted to take advantage of the lovely views over the fields and the Solent beyond and get a beautiful adobe built.

The site lies within an Area of Special Character created of predominantly traditional pitched roof houses. The result was expected to be the mediate between the clients desire for a contemporary house and the planners requirements of a pitched roof form. Also, the requirement was of the design that appears modest from the front to respect the double storey properties either side.

The requirements were such that it asked for a lot of brainstorimng and proper execution of the ideas. The team of architects at OB Architecture started their venture and the resultant is in front of you in the form of an image.

The house appears as double storeys from the front, but its roof rises up to three storeys at the rear to give expansive open views across the fields. There is this pitched roof and a large chimney to the side that echo the character of the other buildings along the road.

It is one modern home with a contemporary feel as it is made up of timber, render, a metal roof and large glazed openings. Endowed with all the basic amenities that one could ask for, this is a superb architecture that promises to spread the warmth and give the interior the touch of elegance that is sure to appeal the spectator to a great extent.
